Reverse Osmosis (RO)

Reverse Osmosis is a water treatment process in which water is forced through a semi permeable membrane that has very small holes or”pores”, Clean water passes through and impurities that are too big to pass through the membrane are left behind and flushed away.

RO technology is rapidly becoming the benchmark technology for boiler pre-treatment.

This system uses a medium pressure pump to force the water through a membrane system which separates the minerals (ionic species, macro molecules, suspended solids and dissolved solids) from the feed water.

The advantages of this technology are that the reduction of total dissolved solids enables a much reduced rate of boiler blowdown to be achieved, saving water.
